Off out for another adventure with Rosko!
We've had quite a few adventures of late and a strange looking weather front was moving in this Saturday. I noticed the south west midlands was looking dry for most of the day.... which was annoying. until it dawned on me, the Malvern Hills! The Malvern Hills was always an area that id drive past when travelling for work and want to explore. what a day to do it out of the way of any bad weather.

Off we shot down the M5, and landed in Great Malvern with 2 meal deals and high expectations. Great Malvern seemed to remined me of Stratford upon Avon but on a steep hill. Littered with stately looking buildings and touristy type shops ad the bottom of the hills. We walked along the high street and turned right just by a small book shop heading up to green valley. I noticed outside the bookshop that there was a small tray filled with kids books that were free to take, so I took advantage of the offer and took one for us to read on our lunch break up on the hill.
The start of the route doesn't mess about. IT's very very steep and the fact that its tarmac put some serious strain on my calf muscles. It didn't seem to relent for a good 45 minutes. we eventually got to the top of green valley. we were over the fell point here and the views opened up quickly across the surrounding area. What a sight!

I Hadn't plotted a route to follow up here as I knew that the Malvern hills had well trodden paths and there wasn't hard navigational areas such as moors Etc. I also knew that there was little clouds around on the day so I didn't think it was overly necessary for a stroll about the hillside. However at the point of standing here I didn't know what to do with myself. So i took a left turn and headed up to Sugar loaf hill. But as as got the the top of the ridge we was buffeted with an extremely strong wind from the East. As I was walking I started to feel really cold so I dread to think how Rory felt without walking despite having more layers on. So i soon turned around and headed towards Table and North Hill. I got out of the wind just by a bench so I stopped for a quick drink, when I offloaded my backpack I seen that Rory had decided to nod off. I let him sleep for a bit while I eat some food and checked out the views. A very peaceful and fulfilling 20 mins.

After a while I decided to battle on up to the top of North Hill. I didn't hang around on top due to the wind & came down back into green valley where we set up the picnic camp and read some books for an hour or so. Ending the main part of our walk with some great quality time together.
