Y Gribin - Grade 1 scramble in the Glyderau

following the last outing in mid wales which resulted in several days of drying my gear out, I’m left wishing the days away for summer to get out in some kinder weather. Years of these wishes have often gone unanswered in the early months of the year in the UK.

So so here I am again looking at 40-60 mph forecasts and wondering whether I had the courage in the past to attempt any routes on my snowdonia scramble tick list. No memories of this type of day sprang to mind.

Very stupidly the night before, despite the preparation, I took it for granted that is be like a spring chicken when the alarm clock sounded.

This wasn't the case today, I slept through, waking with a startle at 6:45. It's small things like this, a late start, forgetting a piece of kit, getting stuck behined traffic, that can manifest itself to having a negative impact to your day. So this was quickly put behined me with the usual led zeppelin live album

Upon arrival at Ogwen cottage, I was greeted with some squaly, horrible conditions.

With some haste due to the watch noting the 8am start was an hour ago, I quickly donned the waterproofs and started to stomp adjacent the river upto Cwm bochlywd.

The usual river crossing point was in serious spate, so myself and a new friend I met to confer with carried on up the right site until we entered the Cwm.

There is a pretty lake here I've swam in many times, however the persistent hail and snow being thrown in from the west

A quick check on the map to confirm that I was at the base of Y Gribin then I continued the trudge on the right side of Lyn Bochlwyd
